Need a quick break from city life? The Poconos are the perfect weekend escape — just a few hours from NYC but it feels like a whole different world. Think lakes, waterfalls, cozy cabins, and a ton of fresh mountain air. Here’s how to spend two chill days up there.
🗓️ Day 1: Lakes, Waterfalls & Small-Town Vibes
Morning: Hit the road early and head straight for Lake Wallenpaupack. Rent a kayak or paddleboard and soak up the views — it’s peaceful and super photogenic. If you’re not into paddling, the Wallenpaupack Lake Trail is an easy walk with some great lookout spots.
Afternoon:Grab lunch in Hawley at Cocoon Coffeehouse & Bakery (their pastries are amazing). Then drive over to Bushkill Falls, also known as “the Niagara of Pennsylvania.” The wooden bridges, rushing water, and forest trails make it a total must-see.
Evening:Check into your stay — maybe a cute cabin, a lakeside lodge, or go all out with a spa resort like The Lodge at Woodloch. Wind down with dinner and a glass of local wine, or chill by the fire with some hot cocoa.
🗓️ Day 2: Adventure & Relax Mode
Morning:Start your day with breakfast and some adventure at Camelback Mountain. Depending on the season, you can ski, zip-line, or try the mountain coaster. Not into the thrill stuff? The Delaware Water Gap has beautiful hiking trails and calm river views.
Afternoon:Stop for lunch at Barley Creek Brewing Company in Tannersville — great food and local beer. Before heading back to NYC, hit a farm market or antique shop to pick up maple syrup, candles, or something handmade to remember your trip.
Evening:Drive home with that relaxed, mountain-state-of-mind feeling. You’ll be surprised how refreshed you feel after just two days away.
